Guideline DVS 3320-2 (01/2019)
Quality requirements for the use of pressure sensitive adhesive tape for permanent bonded joints
Bonding processes are among the most important joiningtechniques of the 21st century. The use of pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSA) represents a rapidly expanding area of adhesive technology. PSA are available as technical products in the form of double-sided adhesive tapes, self-adhesive die-cut parts and transfer tapes. With regard to processing technology, these pressure-sensitive adhesive tape systems have a number of special features that distinguish them from other adhesive systems. In order to place these individual specifications on a broader basis for general application, adhesive manufacturers, users and research institutes, developed the processing technology for pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes in all relevant process steps and established the new DVS 3320-2. This new guideline supplements the state of the art formulated in DIN 2304-1 for the organization of the professional implementation of bonding processes. Now, the user has the opportunity to professionally plan and reliably execute permanent adhesive connections with pressure-sensitive adhesive tape systems.
